Why I Stopped Vlogging (and Started Blogging)

Hey guys!
I wanted to chat with you today about my reasons for why I stopped vlogging.

Here’s a little bit of background info…

I’ve been running my Youtube channel for just over a year now (I think!) and don’t get me wrong, I have really enjoyed it so far. It’s just SOOOO time consuming! I don’t know if you know this, but I currently work as an estate agent full time. Therefore any bit of spare time I have, I like to try and experiment with makeup looks.
I thought that Youtube would be a natural follow on from this… I figured I could post makeup tutorials and link it all together. Instead, I started spending hours on the filming and editing of a single video which meant less time for actually creating makeup looks.

It was so easy to get weighed down with the pressures consistently posting. It started to become more of a chore than a pleasure, which is not the way it should be! I realise that you have to put time and hard work into these things, but you shouldn’t let that stop you from enjoying it.

So moving forwards…

…I’ve started this blog. I don’t suppose this will be any less time consuming or easier, but I do know that it works around my schedule/routine much better!! I really admire people that work hard on their blogs and vlogs. I don’t think I realised how much effort goes into it before I started, but as long as it is something that you enjoy, it becomes a lovely hobby. There are so many fantastic people in this community, and I have experienced a lot of care and support which I am so grateful for. It has made me want to keep going in this! If you are thinking of starting a vlog or blog, then I would suggest you go for it! See where it takes you! You may prefer making videos, or typing away like I’m doing now… You’ll find what works 🙂

If you already do this, are you a blogger or a vlogger?! Would you consider doing the other side?

Jessica x

The fact that you’ve made any YouTube videos is amazing to me! I’ve never ever had the courage to talk to a camera! (Hence the whole blog thing) but honestly, props to you! I think it’s also always good to try out new things so even if you decide to go back to the videos it’s always cool to try blogging too ????

Nice to come across your blog and meet you babe! So good luck with your adventure!

I started my blog about three months ago now and have never considered vlogging – the thought of listening to myself on camera makes me cringe! That’s so good that you’ve experienced both though and I bet making YouTube videos took up so much time! Your makeup looks are amazing. ???? All the best on your blogging journey, looking forward to reading your posts x
